Chaos Furies

These are the first 5 chaos furies that I have finished painting. I have some more on the paint table and some others still needing some repairs/final touches, but now I have a painted unit that I can add to as I finish the rest. And as usual for me they still need to be based but it will get done eventually. The First one is actually a reaper succubus model the rest are all conversions of either dark elves or dark eldar models with harpy wings or harpys and lots of daemonette claws.

  1. Your inspiring me!! There are soooo many cool hawt chick models out there from other mini ranges that would rock in a Slaanesh army ... Fantasy or 40K. I really want to finish up a Slaanesh army this coming year. What is sad is my nickname has been The Lord of Excess forever and I currently don't have a Slaaneshi army of any kind!! Anyway I really miss the old Daemonette models ... don't get me wrong I like the new ones they are cool AND plastic ... but I think I might try to track some down for a 40K demon list. I love your conversions on the Sevorinia model btw ... keep posting ... cool stuff!

  2. Thank you so much for the encouragement, I'm too new to the hobby to have seen the old daemonette models in person but I too wish that I could get my hands on some of them. When I first saw your nickname I had to check out your blog hopes high that you had a Slaanesh army too, but although a cool blog I was a little dissapointed to realize that you didn't have one, so I fully encourage you to build one. (The name just screams it) I was thinking of trying to adapt some sort of nickname as a general to the like for me, but she who hungers just makes me sound like a fat chick:P, Mistress of Pleasure sounds like i run a brothel of some type, Mistress of Excess sounds too much like yours and just doesn't have the right ring to it. Maybe i will come up with one or maybe ill just be samalander as usual.

  3. I kinda lied before ... come to think of it ... I actually do have a Slaanesh army in progress ... but its been sadly gathering dust for so long I forgot about it. I have an insane amount of minis and projects ... I have something like 20 armies some done and in foam and others in various states of completion. For years I had a huge income and spent like there was no tomorrow ... now that I'm a victim of the recession and going back to school (getting a PhD in poly sci) I have time to paint again. Anyway I will try to get some picks up of Slaanesh stuff. What I actually do have is I'm doing a pretty straight up emperor's children army. Sonic Blasters, Blastmasters and mostly Slaaneshi marine looking models. What I want to do is take some of the new daemonette models and glue them on the outside of the rhinos, land raider and dread ... sort of writhing provocatively. Long ago there was an amazing article in white dwarf with someone who had done that ... with extensive conversions and scratch green stuff sculpting. It was amazing ... and I've always wanted to try something similar. I'm a victim of too many armies syndrome ... I used to be a pretty good painter ... not quite golden demon level ... but getting close. Five years of no painting and I'm just getting back into it ... so I'm starting off with some easier projects for painting to kind of rebuild my skill (it does atrophy ... well it did for me at least). So its Orks, Nids, then probably Blood Angels. As for a nickname ... mine stems from spending more on games, doing pretty much everything twice as much and twice as hard as all my friends for years and years. One day long ago someone randomly said "dude you are THE Lord of Excess" and it stuck. In Las Vegas that became the name of our gaming group, etc. now that I'm in Utah ... I feel like I should take up the banner and become the anti-christ or something ... LOL. Anyway cool blog and I will try sometime in the next few weeks to month or so ... to dig out some Slaaneshi stuff and post it. Even if its unpainted bare metal ... I should have some Slaanesh stuff on my page ... I feel kinda blasphemous now since I don't.

  4. lol, I will admit that I lothe the imperium and all that it stands for, so i don't like spacemarines, but I recently read Fulgrim, and the emperors children made me like space marines just a little, so for having a chaos marines army the emperors children are the best. That book almost made me want to start a emperors children army to ally with my daemons. But now I think I will just wait and see if they come out with plastic sisters of battle and then convert them into a chaos marines army for myself.

  5. I've seen people do a couple things regarding female slaanesh armies. I actually saw a very well painted army of nicely converted eldar banshee models blended with chaos space marine bitz and emperors children sonic weapons. I have looked and I can't find any pics of it anywhere. The entire army was pretty impressive and very well painted. The other thing I've thought of and I think this works for Slaanesh as per the fluff you would have hermaphraditic, etc. "gifts" bestowed by the Dark Prince ... or Dark Princess ... depending on the mood. Just take dark elf heads from the plastic fantasy dark elf, high elf, wood elf sprues and use those in place of the marine helms. If you wanted all feminine looking heads .. just use those. If you wanted mixed squads use both. I'd honestly need to check the bitz for those armies again ... I'm not positive if there are many feminine looking heads ... but ... after all they are elfs ... even the guys are kinda girly right .. lol.

Fulgrim rocks! Its one of my favorite books ... you can't help but like him and to pity his fate.
