Castle Mountain Finished

I am quite behind on posts right now, this has been finished since Gottacon. As I finished it just in time for it to be played on by tournament players. I myself did not play in the tournament this year, but it was awesome seeing people enjoying the tables i brought to contibute. Here are pictures from Gottacon.

I haven't taken any close up pictures but I figured the ones of these battles would do fine.
As I mentioned I did not play in the 40K tournament this year, I only played in the Warmachine doubles tournament. I was sad about the lack of really awesome terrain for the Warmachine tournament this year so I am determined to help that by having a few tables to provide for it for next year. I am already working on a 'water table'. Posts of that to come eventually.

Results

Last weekend we hosted a Terrain building weekend at the Rabbit Hole. I wish that I could match Ricalope's Productivity, Of building and painting a tables worth of terrain in one weekend, but I doubt there is many who can, so I will endeavour to at least finish what i did make. it took me all week to finish them but i managed it. here is what i made.

Project ADD

I have been bouncing all over the place with my productivity lately. I keep falling into the "I will do a blog post once I finish something" slump. Well considering that I am having a hard time sticking to one project for more than a day or two at a time, I'm slowly getting lots done but nothing complete to show for it. I have been painting Castle mountain and it is almost half finished just a few touch ups to do once I finish the other half piece.

I have been painting my Warmachine Cryxx army as I want to play with them at Gottacon 2012.

I have been working on assembling a collection of RPG minis as I have a tendency to use battle maps a lot when I am Scene Lording. I have actually finished one but thats because its one of the victims i play in one of the bi weekly campaigns i partake in. Pictures of these will be posted in my other blog but here is a sneak peak if you don't feel like clicking the link.

Castle mountain Part 2

Everything is now glued down and set in place. A bunch of gap filling and rubble making later, and now it is ready for priming. Gap filling and rubble took a lot longer than I had anticipated, It sure looks better now though. I was so excited to start painting that I forgot to take pictures until after I started painting the foam bits black. Which is the next step before spray priming. So halfway finished I remembered, due to prompting from Ricalope mind you.

I am eager to paint this and have 3 days off after today, so the next post will probably come soon.

Castle Mountain part 1

If you have seen Ricalope's Death mountain then you probably have mountain envy too. But You probably don't see the source of your envy on a daily basis. So the solution to this problem is clearly build my own mountain right, ok well a full day of non stop work and one after work evening later here is the beginnings of my Castle mountain. Ricalope is nick naming it Fantasy mountain and suggests that I put a grail shaped light at the top but that just keeps making that scene and the lines of those girls from Monty python go through my head over and over ... far too perilous, far too perilous. but with further adieu here is the beginning of my castle mountain.

  It is 2 pieces that when put together are 4ft long by 2ft wide by 2ft tall. more to come later it still needs rubble and some of the pieces are not finished being glued on. But this is a big project so WIP posts is a must.
